Track Restoration Fund Run 10k

Date August 9, 2026
Location Temple Newsam, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Distance 10 km

Here's what's coming up on the UK running scene.

10k Fund Run to raise much needed funds towards the upkeep of Temple Newsam running track.

The Track Restoration Fund Run 10k is a multi-terrain, chip-timed event raising funds for the running track at Temple Newsam.

Following the success of previous races and efforts, enough has been raised to resurface the track and return it to its original glory, for the benefit of all.

This year’s focus is fundraising for the on-going maintenance costs.

100% of race proceeds will be invested in keeping Temple Newsam Track looking its best for the running community.

The course starts with a lap of the running track before venturing out into the grounds of Temple Newsam while incorporating a mixture of footpaths and woodland trails. The halfway point at the top of "The Avenue" gives you a beautiful view of Temple Newsam house in the distance, from there runners head further around the estate and back to the running track for the finish. The route is approximately 10 kilometres.

A medal will be awarded to all finishers.

Temple Newsam’s track is available for anyone, be it for running or walking, learning how to ride a bicycle, getting fitter or putting in serious training, for old and young.

This year’s race will once again expand to include something for our youngest community members, a Juniors’ Run. Juniors, age 14 and younger, will be able to take part in a fun run involving two laps of the track.

The Juniors’ start at 9:30am (45mins before the 10k which starts at 10:15am) meaning the children get to be involved in the day’s excitement.

A medal will be awarded to all finishers.

The event is organised by Crossgates Harriers Running Club.

All monies raised will be used to help restore and resurface the running track for the benefit of the community and for years to come.

We can’t wait to welcome you for this year’s race!
