Here's an upcoming event worth having on your radar.

A multi-terrain 10km race with a splash through the beck at the end

BeckBusters is a chip timed event which is now in its 9th year. This multi-terrain course covers a distance of approximately 10km and starts and finishes at Bishop Monkton Primary School. The race continues to build on its reputation for being flat and fast whilst still being located within some beautiful and picturesque countryside. Perfect for both those entrants wanting to gain a PB (perhaps even aiming to break our course record!) or for runners new to the 10km distance. The course incorporates a mixture of road, footpaths and trails begining on a quiet country road before heading cross country to follow the River Ure and the Ripon Canal. Runners will then pass through the pretty village of Littlethorpe before heading back cross country to Bishop Monkton. All participants will receive energy bars and fruit on finishing the race, there is the option to add a momento of a medal to your race entry, if you enter before the 15th August 2026. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall; 1st in age category; 1st male and 1st female school parent; 1st male and 1st female local resident. Entrants and their supporters can enjoy a variety of refreshments including our delicious freshly cooked bacon sandwiches and our homemade cakes, at Bishop Monkton Primary School before, during or after the race. The event is organised by the Friends of Bishop Monkton Primary School Registered Charity 1050824. All monies raised will be used to provide equipment and help towards improvements for the school. Please note that all entrants must be over 15 on the day of the race to take part in the 10km race
