This annual event takes runners of all abilities through the 120-acre Granta Park, on the bank of the River Granta, and the charming country villages of Little and Great Abington, with the aim of raising money for Great Abington Primary School. The 10k and 5k courses are both official UKA road race courses, measured by an official course measurer.
The 10k route has little elevation, which makes it perfect for runners looking to target a new PB. Beginning in Granta Park, it takes participants down the High Street of Great Abington, past the village's recreation ground and across the River Granta. After running through Little Abington, the route weaves past school playing fields before re-entering the Park for the finish line, which is in front of the TWI plane.
The 5k has an entirely flat course takes place entirely in the grounds of Granta Park. It is comprised of 2 laps, also finishing in front of the TWI plane.
The 2k fun run is a more relaxed race, taking entrants through the Park on a traffic-free route. The course is suitable for all ages, buggies and wheelchairs.
The top finishers from all races will receive trophies and mugs. All finishers in the 10k and 5k will receive a sustainable medal, whilst those running in the 2k fun run will receive a certificate.
